Gillette Student With Guns Charged With Attempted Murder
The Gillette News Record is reporting that the 14-year-old Sage Valley student who brought guns to his junior high school and threatened to shoot multiple people, will be charged with 9 counts of attempted first degree murder.
The paper says that each count is for an individual named by the boy as a target.
The student was carrying a 40-caliber handgun and had a 9-mm handgun in his locker when another student heard him making the threats. That student told staff who contained the student and called police. The boy got the guns from a family member.
Gillette Police report there have been other threats in the wake of the student’s arrest, but none have proven to be more than just that.
