A 31-year-old Cheyenne man is facing a felony charge after allegedly committing burglary.

According to a booking sheet, police arrested Eddie Lee Winn at 9:09 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 22.

Alcohol Involved

Police say alcohol was involved, but Winn refused a blood alcohol content (BAC) test.

Winn was booked into the Laramie County Detention Center and subsequently charged with burglary, a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison, up to a $10,000 fine, or both, and domestic battery - first offense, a misdemeanor.

Initial Court Appearance

On Tuesday, Aug. 26, Winn was seen in Laramie County Circuit Court in front of Judge Antoinette Williams on the charges.

Williams appointed Winn a public defender and asked for the state's position regarding bond.

"Mr. Winn has a history of assaultive behavior from 2021 as well as a pending destructive and I believe it was fighting in Municipal Court from earlier this month, and a disorderly conviction from 2022, that certainly gives the state concern for the safety of the victim," the state said. "He was also found in contempt of court in 2014."

"Mr. Winn has a number of alcohol-related misdemeanor convictions in the last 10 years, which further gives the state concern for the safety of the community as well as the safety of the victim," the state added. "For those reasons the state believes that a cash bond is appropriate and would request $3,000 cash."

Bond Set at $3K Cash

Williams set Winn's bond at $3,000 cash and his preliminary hearing was set for Wednesday, Sept. 3, at 2:15 p.m.

Please remember that all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
