Free Meals Offered For Cheyenne Area Kids This Summer

The last day of school for Laramie County School District#1 schools is Tuesday, June 5.

Elementary schools will get out at 10:30 a.m. and secondary schools will get out at 11:30 a.m.

Free meals will be offered for local students weekdays at the following locations this summer:

• South High - June 18–July 19 (closed July 4)

• 7:15 – 7:45 a.m., breakfast
• 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., lunch

• Afflerbach, Baggs, Freedom, Goins, Pioneer Park & Rossman* elementaries - June 18–July 17 (closed July 4) 

• 8 – 8:30 a.m., breakfast
• 11:30 –12:30 p.m., lunch
• *Rossman breakfast ends July 13

• Rossman Elementary - July 13–Aug. 3

• 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., lunch only

• Afflerbach Elementary - July17–Aug. 3 

• 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.,
• lunch only June 18–Aug. 3

• YMCA Picnic in the Park!

• 11 a.m. – noon

• Pioneer Park Center, 1331 Talbot Court.

• 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., Monday, Wednesday & Friday;
• 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., Tuesday; 12:30 – 1:30 p.m., Thursday;

• Youth Activity &  Community Center, 1317 Parsley Blvd.

• 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., Monday, Wednesday & Friday;
• 10:30 – 11:30 a.m., Tuesday; 12:30 – 1:30 p.m., Thursday

There are no income requirements or registration. Any child under age 18 may come to eat for free. Adults may purchase meals for $4 (not available at YMCA or Parks & Rec sites.)

The first day of classes for the fall semester is Tuesday, August 28.
