Forecast Rain Could Cause Flooding in Laramie Area

LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) — Forecast rain for southern Wyoming could lead to flooding in the Laramie area.

National Weather Service meteorologist Bill Mokry told the Laramie Boomerang that warm temperatures and rainfall could cause flooding along the Laramie and the Little Laramie rivers in Albany County, with the largest risk coming where the two rivers meet. He said a "huge, heavy rainfall" could lead to flooding around Bosler by the end of the week.

The National Weather Service expects the forecast rain to begin accelerating the melting of snow in the mountains above 9,000 feet.

Flooding is also possible in neighboring Converse and Carbon counties.
