Cheyenne Man Charged With Felony Abuse Let Out on $500 Cash Bond
A 27-year-old Cheyenne man is facing a felony charge after allegedly intentionally abusing a vulnerable adult.
According to a booking sheet, Isaiah Robert Butts was arrested at 6:45 p.m. on Monday after police contacted him at his home in the 800 block of Randall Avenue.
Police say Butts was the subject of a welfare check after making suicidal statements.
Welfare Check Leads to Arrest on Warrant
Police say when they ran Butts' name, they discovered he had an active Laramie County warrant for elderly abuse, a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison, up to a $10,000 fine, or both.
Circuit Court Judge Thomas Lee signed the warrant on May 1, 2024.
Butts was taken to the Laramie County Detention Center, where he was booked on his warrant.

Butts was seen in Circuit Court on Tuesday morning, during which his bond was set at $500 cash, which he later posted, and his preliminary hearing was scheduled for next Friday, Sept. 6 at 9 a.m.
