Cheyenne Transient Charged After Found Sleeping in Stolen Vehicle
A 43-year-old Cheyenne transient is facing a felony charge after police say they found him sleeping in a stolen vehicle.
Suicidal Person Report Leads to Stolen Vehicle, Felony Theft Charge
According to a booking sheet, Thomas Michael Nace was arrested at 2:50 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 6, after police were dispatched to a report of him being suicidal.
Police say Nace was sleeping in a stolen vehicle in Martin Luther King Jr. Park.
Police say the vehicle was confirmed stolen out of Denver, and a non-extraditable warrant was placed for Nace in Colorado for the theft of the vehicle.
Nace was taken to the Laramie County Detention Center, where he was booked without incident.
He was subsequently charged with felony theft, a crime punishable by up to 10 years in prison, up to a $10,000 fine, or both.
Bond Set at $1.5K Cash
Nace made his initial appearance in Laramie County Circuit Court on Monday, Dec. 9, during which his bond was set at $1,500 cash and his preliminary hearing was scheduled for Monday, Dec. 16 at 10:30 a.m.
