A 50-year-old Cheyenne woman is facing drug possession charges following a traffic stop in east Cheyenne.

According to a booking sheet, Dominique K. Stanford was arrested at 9:02 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 22 after a police officer pulled her over on East Lincolnway at McCann Avenue for driving without a functioning license plate light.

Officer Sweet and his K-9 partner, Dutch, were called to the scene, and Dutch alerted on Stanford's door.

K-9 Sniff Leads to Drug Paraphernalia, Meth

When police searched Stanford's van, they reportedly found a glass pipe with suspected methamphetamine residue inside a small unzipped black bag on the driver's side floorboard.

A scale, a clear plastic bag containing suspected methamphetamine residue, and multiple small unused clear plastic baggies were also reportedly found in Stanford's purse.

Stanford was taken to the Laramie County Detention Center and subsequently charged with felony possession of a controlled substance - third or subsequent offense and misdemeanor possession of methamphetamine.

Bond Set at $3K Cash

Stanford made her initial appearance in Laramie County Circuit Court on Monday, Aug. 26, during which her bond was set at $3,000 cash and her preliminary hearing was scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 4 at 1:30 p.m.
