A 27-year-old Cheyenne woman is facing a felony theft charge following a traffic stop in north central Cheyenne.

According to a booking sheet, Montegua Symphony Renee Presbury was riding in the front seat of a black SUV on Aug. 2, 2024, when police at about 1:11 p.m. stopped the SUV at 2714 Evans Ave. for having no visible registration.

Police say the SUV had multiple wanted people in it, including Presbury, who had a warrant out of Laramie County Circuit Court for felony theft, a crime punishable by up to 10 years in prison, up to a $10,000 fine, or both.

Judge Antoinette Williams signed the warrant on Aug. 1, 2024.

Presbury was arrested and taken to the Laramie County Detention Center, where she underwent the booking process without incident.

Bond Set at $2.5K Cash for Alleged Cheyenne Thief

Presbury was seen in Circuit Court on Aug. 5, 2024, during which her bond was set at $2,500 cash and her preliminary hearing was scheduled for Aug. 14, 2024, at 3 p.m.

This isn't the first time Presbury has been charged with felony theft.

She was arrested on July 22, 2023, after reportedly failing to return a U-Haul truck.
