A 53-year-old Cheyenne transient is facing a felony charge after allegedly stealing an SUV.

According to a booking sheet, a police officer was called to the Big Horn Motel at 2004 E. Lincolnway at 3:17 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 29 for a suspicious person.

Suspicious Person Call Leads to Felony Theft Charge

The officer says they contacted Glenda Rae Gotcher near an Acura MDX which returned stolen out of Laramie County.

The officer says before contacting Gotcher, another officer saw Gotcher driving the SUV before parking it in the American Legion parking lot.

Gotcher was arrested and taken to the Laramie County Detention Center, where she was booked without incident.

Gotcher was subsequently charged with felony theft, a crime punishable by up to 10 years in prison, up to a $10,000 fine, or both.

Bond Set at $2,500 Cash

Gotcher made her initial appearance in Laramie County Circuit Court on Thursday, Jan. 30, during which her bond was set at $2,500 and her preliminary hearing was scheduled for Friday, Feb. 7 at 9 a.m.
