A 42-year-old Cheyenne man is facing felony charges after reportedly trying to hit a woman with a metal bar and kicking a cop.

Police Called to Physical Disturbance

According to a booking sheet, it all started around 9:48 p.m. on Friday, April 11, after police were dispatched to a home in the 2400 block of East 10th Street for a physical disturbance.

Police say the disturbance was over and the suspects had left the area when they arrived, but while they were still on the scene, a van pulled up to the location following a woman on a bicycle.

Police Thwart Assault

Police say a man, later identified as Roy Castrun Burnett Jr., jumped out of the moving van with a metal bar in his hand and ran toward the woman while raising the metal bar in the air in a menacing manner, but an officer tased him before he was able to hit her.

Cop Kicked in the Shin

After he was tased, Burnett reportedly continued to struggle with officers while he was being handcuffed and searched, kicking one of them in the right shin, causing pain.

Burnett was placed into the WRAP and taken to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center for jail clearance, then booked into the Laramie County Detention Center.
