Cheyenne Cop Nabs Cheyenne Man Wanted for Strangulation
A 45-year-old Cheyenne man is facing a felony charge after allegedly strangling a household member.
According to a booking sheet, Max Magin Gauna III was arrested at Hi Market at 215 E. Lincolnway at 9:08 p.m. on June 25, 2024, after a police officer, knowing Gauna had a felony warrant, spotted him in the parking lot.
The officer says Gauna had a warrant for strangulation of a household member, a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison, and domestic battery, a misdemeanor.
The warrant was signed and dated by Laramie County Circuit Court Judge Antoinette Williams on June 21, 2024.
Gauna was searched, but no weapons or contraband were found, and taken to the Laramie County Detention Center without incident, where he was booked on his warrant.
Bond Set at $5K Cash for Cheyenne Man Charged With Strangulation, Domestic Battery
Gauna was seen in Circuit Court on June 26, 2024, during which his bond was set at $5,000 cash and his preliminary hearing was scheduled for July 3, 2024, at 3 p.m.
All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
