Cheyenne Woman Charged With Endangering Children, Drug Possession
A 45-year-old Cheyenne woman is facing a slew of charges, including four felony charges, following a search of her home and subsequent traffic stop.
Welfare Check + Home Visit
According to a booking sheet, on Wednesday, Feb. 26, police and the Wyoming Department of Family Services conducted a welfare check and home visit at Michelle Lynn McCune's home in the 1400 block of West Allison Road.
Police say the state of the home was extremely concerning. They say there was trash, old food, stains, and extremely unsanitary conditions.
Traffic Stop Leads to Cocaine
On Friday, Feb. 28, police contacted McCune in reference to a traffic stop, which they say was conducted due to a search warrant being executed at her home.
Police say that after McCune was pulled over, a K-9 was called to the scene, and the dog indicated there were drugs in the vehicle.
When officers searched the vehicle, they reportedly found 38.16 grams of cocaine in the front passenger seat.
7 Charges
McCune was subsequently arrested and charged with three counts of endangering children - child where methamphetamine is stored, a felony punishable by up to five years in prison, up to a $5,000 fine, or both; three misdemeanor counts of endangering children; and felony possession of cocaine, a crime punishable by up to seven years in prison, up to a $15,000 fine, or both.

Bond Set at $5K Cash
McCune made her initial appearance in Laramie County Circuit Court on Tuesday, March 4, during which her bond was set at $5,000 cash, and her preliminary hearing was scheduled for Thursday, March 13, at 1:30 p.m.
Please remember that all suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
