A 33-year-old Cheyenne man is facing a felony charge after reportedly entering a home through a window and threatening his ex-girlfriend.

Police Called to Physical Domestic

According to a booking sheet, police were called to a physical domestic at 5:38 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 20, and upon arrival, heard an active disturbance coming from inside the house.

Covered in Blood

Police say the front door was open and the suspect, Sawyer Neal Morrison, was standing in the hallway with blood covering his face, with the victims and witnesses standing behind him.

Unlawful Entry

Police say the residents told them that Morrison wasn't supposed to be in the house, and had gotten in through a window.

Morrison was handcuffed and placed in the back of a patrol vehicle and the others were interviewed, and it was discovered that Morrison had entered the house, barricaded the doors, went downstairs, and threatened his ex-girlfriend.

The argument then reportedly led upstairs, where Morrison threatened to punch her.

Fight With Homeowner

Police say the homeowner told them that when he returned home, he had to go through his back window to enter the house, and that's when he and Morrison began fighting in the kitchen.

Police say Morrison had several lacerations on his face and head, and the homeowner had marks on his knuckles consistent with offensive punch marks.

Window Smashed

Police say the homeowner also told them that Morrison had broken the window of his vehicle earlier in the day, and when they looked at his vehicle, they saw a smashed driver's side window.

Police say Morrison said that he'd accept that charge, but he didn't want to speak with them about the physical incident.

Warrant

Police say when they ran Morrison's name, they found that he had an active warrant out of Cheyenne Municipal Court for failure to appear on original charges of driving under suspension.

They say Judge David Singleton signed the warrant on Oct. 10, 2024.

Belligerent

Morrison was taken to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center for treatment, and while there, reportedly became belligerent, screaming and thrashing in his bed, and attempting to kick officers while they restrained him.

He was then booked into the Laramie County Detention Center.

1 Felony, 3 Misdemeanors

Morrison was subsequently charged with unlawful entry into an occupied structure, a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison, up to a $10,000 fine, or both.

He was also charged with three misdemeanors, including domestic battery, property destruction, and interference with a peace officer - no injury.

Bond Set at $10K Cash

On Friday, Feb. 21, Morrison was seen in Laramie County Circuit Court in front of Judge Sean C. Chambers on the charges.

His bond was set at $10,000 cash and his preliminary hearing was scheduled for Friday, Feb. 28 at 10:30 a.m.

Please remember that all suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
