Bond was set at $50,000 cash Monday for a 54-year-old Rawlins man charged in Laramie County with four counts of felony stalking.

According to a booking sheet, Leo Pete Montoya Jr. was transported to the Laramie County Detention Center from Albany County on Thursday, Feb. 27.

District Court Warrants

Montoya reportedly had two warrants out of Laramie County District Court, one for failure to comply and one for failure to appear, with the original charges being strangulation of a household member, child endangerment - enhancement controlled substance, domestic battery - first offense, simple battery, and misdemeanor possession of methamphetamine and marijuana.

Judge Catherine R. Rogers signed the warrants on Wednesday, Jan. 22, and Friday, Feb. 14, respectively.

Circuit Court Warrant

On Saturday, March 1, inmate Montoya was served with a warrant out of Laramie County Circuit Court for two felony counts of stalking - protection order violation and two felony counts of stalking - bail violation.

Judge Antoinette Williams signed the warrant on Thursday, Feb. 27.

On Monday, March 3, Montoya was seen in Circuit Court in front of Judge TJ Forwood on the charges.

Future Court Dates

Montoya is scheduled to be back in Circuit Court for his preliminary hearing on Monday, March 10 at 10 a.m., and in District Court for his bond revocation arraignment and hearing on the failure to appear warrant on Thursday, March 13 at 9 a.m.
