Bond Set for Cheyenne Man Charged With Felony Theft

Bond was set at $1,000 cash Monday for a 33-year-old Cheyenne man charged with felony theft.

According to a booking sheet, James Deboyed Estrada was arrested at 9:32 p.m. on July 3, 2024, after a Wyoming Highway Patrol trooper stopped the vehicle he was riding in at milepost 363 on eastbound U.S. 30 for having expired registration.

Expired Registration Leads to Wanted Cheyenne Man's Arrest, Felony Theft Charge

The trooper says Estrada had a full extradition warrant out of Laramie County for felony theft.

Circuit Court Judge Thomas Lee signed the warrant on June 10, 2024.

Estrada was taken to the Laramie County Detention Center, where he was booked on his warrant without injury or incident, and subsequently charged with felony theft, a crime punishable by up to 10 years in prison, up to a $10,000 fine, or both.

Estrada was scheduled to appear in Circuit Court on July 5, 2024, but he reportedly "refused to come to court," so he wasn't seen until July 8, 2024.

Estrada is scheduled to be back in court at 11 a.m. on July 15, 2024, for his preliminary hearing.

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
