County Commissioner Calls For Plan Cheyenne Vote

Laramie County Commissioner M. Lee Hasenauer is calling for a public vote on whether the City should implement Plan Cheyenne.

Hasenauer says the Laramie County Commission and Cheyenne City Council should put the issue on the ballot for local voters. He says if they don't, he is prepared to organize a petition drive to put a referendum on the ballot. While that would require a massive effort, Hausenauer has said they've been able to do it before.

Cheyenne Mayor Rick Kaysen recently said he doesn't support putting the issue on the ballot, and added that he thought Plan Cheyenne needs to help move the community forward and give the City access to federal funds for various projects.
