The Cheyenne City Council has scheduled a work session on Friday, August 28, at noon on the proposed annexation of a section of the Cox Ranch for data center development.

No votes will be taken at the work session, and public comment will not be accepted.

The annexation would be of 1,197.76 acres on the west side of Cheyenne on Happy Jack Road, north of the North Range Business  Park. The plan is for the property to be developed as a data center by Viawest and Skybox Data Centers.

Annexation Was Postponed In April

According to a city news release, "This annexation was postponed in April to allow for more time for the companies to conduct community engagement. It is scheduled to return to City Council’s Public Services Committee on second reading on Sept. 8 and will then go before the full Council on Sept. 14. If approved, the annexation will return to Public Services Committee and the full Council for consideration on third and final reading."
