Don’t be fooled by the above normal temperatures Friday and early Saturday as more unsettled weather is just around the corner. Rain and snow is expected Saturday afternoon and will quickly transition to all snow late Saturday evening for southeast Wyoming and the Nebraska Panhandle. Hazardous travel conditions are likely in the highlighted areas, however many uncertainties remain with this system. Warm temperatures the next 48 hours will make it difficult for accumulating snow on roadways at first. Additionally, most areas east of I-25 will begin as rain before transitioning to snow. Warm ground temperatures and the exact timing of the transition to snow will greatly impact snowfall amounts. Therefore, there is low confidence in specific snowfall amounts at this time. The exact forecast track of the storm system will also play a large role in regard to snowfall amounts. For the latest forecast, check weather.gov/cys
