Have you ever been to the Old Fashioned Melodrama in downtown Cheyenne?

The summer tradition continues for 2015 with performances at the historic Atlas Theatre from July 9 through August 2.

The Cheyenne Little Theatre Players' Old Fashioned Melodrama kicks off on Thursday, July 9, at 7 p.m. at the Atlas Theatre downtown. This year's show is titled 'Song of the Lone Prairie' or 'Poem on the Range,' and was written by Scott Cherney.

Tickets are $16 for adults, $14 for seniors, $12 for students and $10 for children 12 and under. Reserve your seats online or by calling 638-6543. During Cheyenne Frontier Days, July 16 through the 26, there will be two performances offered nightly at 7 and 9 p.m.

The Old Fashioned Melodrama encourages audience participation; you can boo the villain, cheer the hero, sigh for the heroine and sing along to old-timey songs. Between the three acts of the Melodrama are unique Olio Acts which vary each night and include:

  • Torch Singers flirting with audience members
  • Musical acts and Singing Groups
  • Magicians and Comedians
  • Story Tellers
  • Clowns

Snacks, candy and drinks are available for purchase, including beer and Sarsaparilla. Also souvenirs can be bought like your very own Card Girl garter.

If you know someone who has never experienced the fun of a night at the Old Fashioned Melodrama in downtown Cheyenne, share this with them or call them and get them out for a show this summer.
