Meet the Newest Furry Members of the Cheyenne Police Department
The Cheyenne Police Department on Monday revealed the newest (and cutest) members of their team -- Zeke, Rogue, and Tuco.
The new pups will soon step into the pawprints of the department's veteran K-9s -- Tyler, Maverick, and Pavel -- who are preparing to retire in May.

The Pawesome Trio
Zeke is an 11-month-old Dutch Shepherd from Chile and is partnered with Officer Brendan Tait, one of the department's newest K-9 handlers.
Rogue is a 2-year-old Belgian Malinois from Poland and is teamed up with Officer Ben Vapenik, who will be retiring his current K-9 partner Maverick.
Tuco is a 14-month-old Belgian Malinois from Romania and is paired up with Officer Lisa Koeppel, who will be retiring her K-9 partner Tyler.
Dual-Purpose Dogs
According to a department Facebook post, this month, the trio will dig into a 13-week training program to become dual-purpose dogs, meaning they will be used for both odor detection and suspect apprehension.
"Our K9s are the ultimate balance of work and play," the post reads. "Training is built around their natural drive to play. Every successful search or apprehension is rewarded with their favorite toy."
Once certified, the dogs will be ready to go out on patrol with their handlers to keep Cheyenne safe.
