Cheyenne Weather Service Warns of Winter Storm, Dangerous Travel
The Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service is warning people about winter weather and poor travel conditions starting this (Friday) evening and going through the day on Saturday.
The service has upgraded from a winter storm watch to a winter storm warning in much of southeast Wyoming. The following statement was posted on the weather service website on Friday morning:
" Winter Weather Advisories & Winter Storm Warnings have been issued for a large portion of southeast Wyoming & the southern Nebraska Panhandle from 5 pm this evening until 8 PM Saturday. Travel will be hazardous with icy and snow packed roads, as well as periods of very low visibilities. Those with travel plans this evening and overnight are urged to monitor weather and road conditions and adjust plans accordingly. A High Wind Warning remains in effect for the Bordeaux area of Interstate 25 until 8 am. Please stay up to date with the latest forecast."
