The Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service is advising southeast Wyoming residents to be ready for a rainy week.

The service posted this statement on its website Monday morning:

''Showers and light snow expected to diminish across the region this morning giving a short reprieve from this round of moisture. Cooler temps again today but warm up on the rise through the week back to 70s on Friday. Afternoon chances of showers and thunderstorms return Wednesday through the end of the week so keep that umbrella handy.''
