Meth Possession Lands Cheyenne Man in Legal Trouble Again
A wanted Cheyenne man is back behind bars after reportedly, once again, getting caught with methamphetamine.
Traffic Stop Leads to Meth, Wanted Man's Arrest
According to a booking sheet, 40-year-old Shawn Michael Pulley was arrested at 11:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 5, after police stopped him at East 16th Street and Carbon Avenue and discovered methamphetamine.
Felony Warrants
Police say Pulley also had three felony warrants, including one out of Laramie County District Court for failure to comply with an original charge of possession of methamphetamine and two out of Colorado.
Pulley was booked into the Laramie County Detention Center on his warrants and for possession of a controlled substance - third or subsequent offense, a felony punishable by up to five years in prison, up to a $5,000 fine, or both.
Initial Court Appearance
On Monday, Nov. 10, Pulley was seen in Laramie County Circuit Court in front of Judge TJ Forwood on the third or subsequent possession charge.
Forwood appointed Pulley a public defender then asked the state for recommendation on bond.
"The state's going to be requesting $5,000 cash," the state said. "It would appear that Mr. Pulley has no strong ties to the community. He has prior felony convictions ... contacts for being a fugitive from justice in 2023 (and) 2024 ... felony drug convictions from 2024, 2019, and 2023, (and) a history of failures to appear ... two last year, one in 2023, (and) one from January of this year."
"All of his failures to comply result from active addiction and the state believes that a cash bond is required in this matter," the state added.
Bond Set at $5K Cash
"I do believe that is appropriate," said Forwood.

Pulley's next court proceeding will be a preliminary hearing on Wednesday, Nov. 19, at 2:15 p.m.
Please remember that all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
