Cheyenne Sex Offender Headed Back to Prison
A 62-year-old Cheyenne man convicted 14 years ago of third-degree sexual assault is headed back to prison after violating his probation.
Frank Apodaca was sentenced Monday in Laramie County District Court to nine to 12 years in prison.
Court records say Apodaca had sex with his 12-year-old neighbor when he was 47 years old. In exchange for his guilty plea to four counts of third-degree sexual assault, the state dropped five other counts against him.
Apodaca served roughly 10 years in prison for one of the counts and was released on probation in June 2013.
He'll begin serving another lengthy probation term once he's finished serving the prison time that was imposed Monday.
