In an effort to address property crime, Cheyenne police will be hosting community meetings over the next several months.

Officer Kevin Malatesta says meeting topics will include crime patterns, how police are using crime analysis to address those crimes and what the police and community can do together to reduce crime.

"The CPD patrols Cheyenne in six different areas," said Malatesta. "Officers are assigned to work these particular areas and therefore they become familiar with trends and patterns occurring in that area."

"By attending these meetings, citizens can speak with their area officers to discuss property crime concerns in their particular neighborhood," he added.

The first meeting will be held this Wednesday at the Cheyenne Public Safety Center from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., and is for those living in central Cheyenne (see map below).
