
July 4 Weekend: Cheyenne Police Report 851 Calls For Service
Cheyenne Police had a pretty busy July Fourth Holiday Weekend, according to CPD spokeswoman Alex Farkas.
For the period from July 3-6, Police investigated 20 car crashes and wrote 131 total citations for traffic and criminal offenses.
Fireworks Complaints, Traffic Stops Kept Police Busy
They also investigated 122 fireworks complaints, with one of those resulting in a ticket. Fireworks are illegal in the city of Cheyenne, but that law is often ignored as the sound of fireworks going off is widely heard around Independence Day, something that has been an annual occurrence for many years.
Police were busy with a long list of possible issues, conducting 200 traffic stops, and investigating 22 alleged incidents of domestic violence and 38 reports of suspicious activity.

Throughout the weekend, 9 arrests were made and 131 criminal and traffic tickets were written, which included one fireworks ticket.
