With his trusty dog Max and his radar gun in hand, the Grinch took to the streets of Cheyenne Wednesday to nab speeders and other traffic violators.

"We thought we'd put him to work here and have him help us with traffic safety awareness," said Cheyenne Police Chief Brian Kozak. "People need to remember to watch their speed, wear their seat belt and don't use that phone while you're driving or the Grinch will radio ahead to a police officer who will pull you over."

This is the third year the Cheyenne Police Department has enlisted the Grinch's help.

"People are in good spirits about it and it really gets people talking, so it's kind of a fun way to promote traffic safety," said Kozak. "And really it seems like we have to do it now, because people are like, 'Hey when is the Grinch going to be out?' They expect that he'll be out here working with us every year."

Kozak says the Grinch will be out again, so motorists need to drive safely to avoid being "Grinched."
