A wanted Cheyenne man who eluded police after a high-speed chase through north Cheyenne earlier this month is now behind bars.

Police spokesman Officer Kevin Malatesta says Anthony Mark Martinez, 20, was arrested Sunday.

Martinez was being sought on three warrants --  two for domestic battery and one for an insurance violation -- when police tried to stop him for speeding in the 100 block of Dell Range Boulevard shortly after midnight on Sept. 4.

Police say Martinez kept driving, causing over $6,000 in property damage.  He finally stopped near Miller Lane and took off running, managing to elude officers.

Martinez appeared Monday in Laramie County Circuit Court on the warrants.  His bond was set at $1,000 cash.

As of Tuesday morning, the Laramie County District Attorney's Office had yet to file any charges related to the chase itself.
