Police are asking for the public's help in finding a wanted man who eluded officers after a high-speed chase through north Cheyenne early Wednesday morning.

Officer David Inman says it all started a little after midnight when officers tried to stop 20-year-old Anthony Martinez for speeding in the 100 block of Dell Range Boulevard.

"He kind of drove through the north area, Ogallala Place and that area," said Inman.  "He hit a car and stopped.  Officers tried to order him out of the car multiple times and then they heard a female passenger also in the car with him."

"He decided to keep going," added Inman.  "He hit a fence, he drove through a yard ... he caused over $6,000 worth of damage."

Inman says Martinez eventually stopped near Miller Lane, and he and his passenger took off running.

"They were able to catch the female passenger, but he's still at large," said Inman.  "We know he ran because he's got three warrants -- one for an insurance violation and two for domestic battery."

"We have a feeling we know where he is, but he's got a lot of family and friends that tend to hide him out," Inman added.

Martinez is 5-foot-7, weighs 145 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes.  Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call police dispatch at (307) 637-6525.
