Cheyenne NWS: Winds Up To 65 MPH Causing Blowing Snow Hazards
The snow from a winter storm that rocked the area over the past couple of days may have stopped falling, but the Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service says strong winds will whip up more travel hazards in southeast Wyoming today.
The agency posted this statement on its website:
High Wind Warning and Winter Weather Advisory for strong gusty winds and patchy blowing snow remain in effect until 11 AM this morning. Visibilities down to one-half mile have been observed around Arlington and between Laramie and Cheyenne.
Cheyenne-based meteorologist Don Day Jr. says Cheyenne officially received 6.6 inches of snow with the winter storm that hit the area over the last couple of days.
But snowfall totals around the area varied, with some rural residents claiming on social media to have received 10 inches or more of the white stuff.
