While a general trend towards warmer, nicer weather is expected for southeast Wyoming this weekend, the Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service is warning people that winter weather will likely return the first part of next week.

The agency posted this statement on its website:

''Early Next Week - Look who's back, back again - it's the snow and cold. A strong cold front will sweep across the region Monday morning and bring snow and much colder temperatures after the warm day Sunday. Will feel more like February than April on Monday into Tuesday. Light to moderate snow will occur on Monday with low to moderate travel impacts likely. Snow rates will decrease Monday night but some additional showers could occur Tuesday. Tuesday morning will be quite cold with widespread teens and even local single digits in the higher terrain and valleys. Temperatures should slowly warm mid to late next week.''
