The Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service has issued a High Wind Warning for areas of southeast Wyoming.

While the cities of Cheyenne and Laramie are not included in the warning, the summit area of Interstate 80 between Cheyenne and Laramie is.

The agency posted this statement on its website:

High Wind Warnings are in effect for Arlington/Elk Mountain, Interstate 80 Summit and Foothills, and Bordeaux from Thursday night through Friday afternoon. Sustained west winds of 35 to 45 MPH with gusts up to 65 MPH are expected. Light, high-profile vehicles will be vulnerable to blow-offs or blow overs. For the latest forecast, go to weather.gov/cys.
