The Cheyenne office of the National Weather Service is warning residents of southeast Wyoming and the Nebraska Panhandle about winter weather which is expected to impact the region through Tuesday morning

"Here are the key points:

  • Hazards:  Winter Weather Warnings and Advisories for heavy snow and freezing drizzle.
  • Areas Impacted: Much of southeastern Wyoming and the Nebraska Panhandle.
  • Timing & Duration:  Now until 6 AM MDT Tuesday, October 9th, 2018.
  • Impacts:  Those traveling can expect slick/snow-covered roadways along with low and reduced visibilities.
  • Certainty & Considerations: Depending upon the motion and location of the main-axis band of precipitation some uncertainty exists on the formation of freezing drizzle across far southeastern Wyoming along with heavy snowfall over the Interstate-80 Summit."
