$100K Cash Bond Set for Cheyenne Man Charged With Meth Crimes
A 34-year-old Cheyenne man is facing felony charges after police reportedly caught him with nearly 12 pounds of methamphetamine.
Search Warrant
According to a booking sheet, Marco Antonio Solis was arrested at High Plains Road and Interstate 25 at 5:10 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 16, after police executed a search warrant through the United States District Court for the District of Wyoming for his person and bags.
It's alleged that Solis was in possession of 11.96 pounds of methamphetamine.
The arresting officer says Solis was fairly uncooperative during the booking process, not wanting to answer the mandatory booking questions.
Solis was subsequently charged with felony possession of methamphetamine, a crime punishable by up to seven years in prison, up to a $15,000 fine, or both; and possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, a felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison, up to a $25,000 fine, or both.
Initial Court Appearance
On Tuesday, Nov. 18, Solis was seen in Laramie County Circuit Court in front of Judge Antoinette Williams on the charges.
Williams appointed Solis a public defender and set his preliminary hearing for Wednesday, Nov. 26, at 1:30 p.m.

Williams then asked for the state's position regarding bond.
"Your honor, I had the opportunity to review Mr. Solis' federal criminal history," the state said. "Of particular concern are his repeated unlawful entries into this country."
"I'm a U.S. citizen, your honor," Solis interrupted.
"I'm not saying that the FBI is infallible, your honor, I'm just saying that this is the information I have," the state said.
"Of further concern is Mr. Solis' zero ties to the community, the sheer volume of drugs that were recovered, (and that) he was uncooperative with anything during his booking procedure," the state added. "The state believes that without a substantial cash bond, something in the neighborhood of $50,000, that Mr. Solis will not return to court."
Bond Set at $100K Cash
"Your bond is $100,000 cash," Williams told Solis. "If you post that, I'll set bond conditions."
Please remember that all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
