Cheyenne Man Bound Over in Gun Threat
A 28-year-old Cheyenne man accused of threatening to kill his girlfriend with a gun has been bound over to Laramie County District Court.
According to court documents, Cheyenne police were called to 1409 1/2 Rollins Avenue on August 20, after Randall J. Regensberg, Jr. reportedly stated he was going to kill his girlfriend of four years with a gun.
An affidavit says the two got into an argument about Regensberg looking at another woman's pictures on Facebook, and that Regensberg stated he was going to take his girlfriend to Vedauwoo and kill her and then shoot himself.
When the woman tried to leave the apartment, Regensberg allegedly pointed a shotgun at her face and said, "I'm going to f***ing kill you and then myself." He then allegedly climbed on top of her and put a pillow over her face, impeding her breathing and telling her to "just die."
The woman was able to free herself and run out of the apartment, but Regensberg followed her, reportedly threatening to shoot her and firing two rounds into the air.
Regensberg was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and battery, strangulation of a household member and reckless endangering. He could face up to 16 years in prison if convicted on all three counts.
Regensberg is free on a $50,000 cash/surety bond. His arraignment date has yet to be scheduled.
