Cheyenne Man Accused of Putting Knife to Girlfriend’s Throat
A 27-year-old Cheyenne man is facing a felony charge after allegedly putting a knife to his girlfriend's throat.
According to a booking sheet, Juan Joseph Ramirez-Ramirez was arrested around 2 o'clock Tuesday morning, Oct. 17, after police were called to a home for a physical domestic with a knife.
Police say Ramirez-Ramirez's girlfriend told them that Ramirez-Ramirez, her boyfriend of two and a half months, had assaulted her with a knife.
When questioned about the situation, the female reportedly told police that Ramirez-Ramirez put a knife to her throat, and was actively holding her down by the throat and collarbone area on the couch.
Police say she had redness around her neck when they arrived on the scene.
Officers located Ramirez-Ramirez in the alley behind the home and he was subsequently arrested and charged with aggravated assault and domestic battery.
Ramirez-Ramirez made his initial appearance in Laramie County Circuit Court Wednesday morning, during which he was informed of the charges.
His bond was set at $3,000 cash and his preliminary hearing was scheduled for Oct. 26 at 10 a.m.
