Cheyenne Man Accused of Hitting Wife With Iron, Choking Her
A 56-year-old Cheyenne man is facing felony charges after reportedly hitting his wife in the head with a clothes iron and choking her.
According to a booking sheet, police contacted Sergio Bucio's wife at 11:49 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 6, who reportedly told them that she and her husband had gotten into a verbal argument around midnight.
The argument then escalated, and Bucio reportedly grabbed a clothes iron and struck her in the head, then climbed on top of her, wrapped his hands around her throat, and said, "I'm going to kill you."
Bucio's wife reportedly told police that she couldn't breathe, that "things were going black," and that she scratched at Bucio's face to try to get him to stop.
Police say Bucio's wife had dried blood, marks, and redness on the right side top of her head, complained of a sore throat, and coughed several times during the interview.
Police then located Bucio at Capitol City Storage at 3325 Polk Ave. and noticed scratch marks on his face indicative of defense wounds.
Bucio was arrested and subsequently charged with aggravated assault and strangulation.
He's scheduled to make his initial appearance in Laramie County Circuit Court this afternoon at 2 p.m.
