Police say the victim told them that he had gotten suspended from school that day because he got caught with a vape, and that his dad, Carl Dean Kraft, was very upset.

The victim reportedly told police that he and his dad were arguing in the living room when his dad put his right hand around his neck restricting his airway.

Police say the victim told them he remembered "gasping for air while dad was choking me."

Police say the victim had a couple of red marks on his neck.

When questioned, Kraft reportedly admitted to "choking" his son with his right hand and said he was attempting to show him what could happen if he continued to vape.

Kraft was arrested and booked into the Laramie County Detention Center on charges of felony strangulation and misdemeanor domestic battery, but because he wasn't charged within 72 hours of his arrest, he was released on Sunday, Dec. 3.
