Strickland was booked into the Laramie County Detention Center and subsequently charged with two counts of felony theft, each punishable by up to 10 years in prison, up to a $10,000 fine, or both.
The thefts are alleged to have occurred on or about Oct. 31.
On Monday, Nov. 17, Strickland's case was bound over to Laramie County District Court.
Felony Check Fraud
On Wednesday, Nov. 19, Strickland was seen in Laramie County Circuit Court in front of Judge Antoinette Williams on a charge alleging on or between Oct. 23 to Oct. 27 she committed felony check fraud, a crime punishable by up to 10 years in prison, up to a $10,000 fine, or both.
"The state alleges you did unlawfully and knowingly issue a check which is not paid because the drawer has insufficient funds or credit with the drawee and the sum of the check is $1,000 or more," Williams told Strickland.
Williams appointed Strickland a public defender and set her preliminary hearing for Wednesday, Nov. 26, at 2:15 p.m.
Williams then asked for the state's position regarding bond.
"She does have a current open felony case that she is on a $2,000 cash bond," the state said.
"While she has no other criminal history, the nature of the charges and the number of charges that have been accumulating certainly give the state concern for the safety of the community," the state added. "For those reasons, the state would ask for a $2,000 consecutive."
Consecutive $2K Cash Bond
"The court will set your bond at $2,000 cash," Williams told Strickland. "If you post that, I'll set bond conditions."
Please remember that all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
