2026 is an election year, which makes it an ideal time to talk about the challenges Wyoming's Capitol City faces.

The Cost Of Living? Crime? Housing?

Some of the challenges are national problems. For example, the cost of living. It's high everywhere, and soaring gas prices don't help. And if you've been to the grocery store lately, you know food prices can be a real problem for struggling families.

How about illegal immigration? The Laramie County Sheriff's Office busted 40 illegal immigrants in a special enforcement effort in November, one of whom had a previous conviction for felony sexual assault. And while it wasn't in Cheyenne, an illegal immigrant living in nearby Laramie recently was sentenced to 30 years in prison for child porn.

Then again, maybe it isn't so much illegal immigrants as crime in general. After all, just in the last couple of weeks there have been two people arrested in Laramie County for homicide, one of whom was 14 years old. Do you feel safe in Cheyenne?

Some people think we have too many data centers are worry they are soaking up too many resources. Are data centers getting out of hand locally? Or are they an asset to our economy?

And we haven't even mentioned what seems to be an eternal problem in Cheyenne, housing. Some people think the people who govern us, locally and/or statewide are a problem. You often hear that they just don't listen. Do you agree?

Or maybe you think the problem is something else entirely? In this poll you can write in your own choice.
