High Bond Set for Cheyenne Man Charged With Aggravated Burglary
A 67-year-old Cheyenne man could face five to 25 years in prison after allegedly burglarizing a house, armed with a knife.
According to a booking sheet, police arrested Michael William Espinoza at a home in the 700 block of Morrie Avenue at 1:31 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 14.

Espinoza was booked into the Laramie County Detention Center and subsequently charged with aggravated burglary, a felony punishable by five to 25 years in prison, up to a $50,000 fine, or both.
Initial Court Appearance
On Thursday, Oct. 16, Espinoza was seen in Laramie County Circuit Court in front of Judge TJ Forwood on the charge.
Forwood appointed Espinoza a public defender and asked the state for recommendation on bond.
"I do not have a criminal history for Mr. Espinoza," the state said. "I would note that just simply due to the nature of this crime, I believe a $15,000 cash bond is appropriate, but the state would defer to the court."
Bond Set at $15K Cash
"I'm going to set your bond at $15,000 cash," Forwood told Espinoza. "If you're able to post bond the court will set conditions at that time."
Espinoza's next court date will be a preliminary hearing on Friday, Oct. 24, at 9 a.m.
Please remember that all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
