A 42-year-old Cheyenne man is facing a felony charge after he was reportedly caught on camera stealing a pair of spurs.

According to a booking sheet, a Laramie County Sheriff's deputy was called to The Tumbleweed at 4070 Interstate 80 Service Rd. in Burns around 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 26, for a larceny.

Caught on Camera

The deputy says the owner of the bar and grill showed him video footage of Earl Wayne Bloss going behind the bar and taking a set of custom-made spurs.

The deputy says the owner of the spurs told him the spurs had a value of $5,000.

The owner of The Tumbleweed reportedly told the deputy that he knew Bloss and said Bloss was staying at the KOA on the I-80 Service Road.

The Joke's on You

The deputy drove to the campground and located Bloss, who reportedly admitted to stealing the spurs.

The deputy says Bloss told him that it was a joke and that he didn't know the spurs were not the owners.

Bloss was arrested and taken to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center for medical clearance for a previous incident, then booked into the Laramie County Detention Center for felony theft, a crime punishable by up to 10 years in prison, up to a $10,000 fine, or both.

Bloss made his initial appearance in Laramie County Circuit Court on Wednesday, May 29, during which his bond was set at $1,000 cash and his preliminary hearing was scheduled for June 5 at 3 p.m.
