Mayor Rick Kaysen has announced the nomination of Brandon Cammarata as the City’s appointed Development Department Director.

This appointment must be confirmed by the Cheyenne City Council which will consider the appointment on September 28, 2015. If approved, Cammarata will take the Oath of Office on Tuesday, September 29, 2015. The appointment would be valid through 2016.

“I am very pleased that Mr. Cammarata has agreed to serve the residents of Cheyenne as appointed Development Director,” said Mayor  Kaysen. “He has an extensive background in development and has been a great asset for the City of Cheyenne since joining in 2003.”

Cammarata first joined the City as a planner and quickly moved up to senior planner in May of 2009. He was tapped as the Development Division Director under the Planning Department in August 2011 and has been in that position since.

“I am excited to have the opportunity to continue serving the Cheyenne community,” Cammarata said. “I look forward to serving as Development Director with a high degree of professionalism, integrity, and enthusiasm.”

He earned his Bachelor Degree in Finance from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 1997, and his Masters Degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Colorado at Denver in 2003. He served as President of the Wyoming Planning Association in 2011 and 2012, and is a current board member on the Western Planner and West Central Chapter of the American Planning Association.

He is also an American Institute Certified Planner.
