The annual Jerry Campbell track meet was held in Buffalo on Thursday with gorgeous weather conditions so that made competing a whole lot easier. On the girl's side in the sprint races, Campbell County junior Sydalee Brown won the 100 meters in 12.94 and also won the 200 with a clocking of 26.35. The 400 winner was Tongue River freshman Addie Pendergast in 1.00.37. In the girl's distance races, Sheridan's Abby Newton ran 2.26.54 to take the tape in the 800 with Mallory Jones of Sheridan winning the 1600 meters in 5.40.67. Caitlyn Daniels of Natrona took the 2-mile in 12.28.4 Thunder Basin's Gabby Drube looked sharp in the 100 hurdles with a win in 15.91 with Buffalo's Kendall Kietjen taking the 300 hurdles in 47.82.

Campbell County won the 4x100 really, Thunder Basin won the 4x400, Sheridan the 4x800, and Buffalo the 1600 medley. In the girl's field events, Elayna Chafee of Kelly Walsh leaped 36-6.5 to win the triple jump, Kennedy Pulliam of Thunder Basin won the long jump at 15-10.75, Preslee Moser from Sheridan went 5-1 to win the high jump and pole vaulter extraordinaire Grace Shaffler of Cody cleared 12-6 to win the gold there. Campbell County's Lauryn Love win the shot put with a throw of 47-6.25 with Natrona's Alesha Lane took the discus with a toss of 128.5. Sheridan won the girl's team standings with 128 points, Thunder Basin was 2nd with 113, and Campbell County 3rd with 96.

On the boy's side in the sprints, Remar Pitter of Campbell County took the 100 in 11.34 with Kelly Walsh's Darius Wiggins winning the 200 and the 400. His time in the 200 was 21.82 and he clocked 49.04 in the 400-meter dash. Over in the distance races, Jackson Dutcher of Natrona won the 800 in 2.10.76 with Tongue River's Wyatt Osler running 4.40.73 to take the 1600 meters. The 3200 winner was Sheridan's David Standish in 10.11.37.  Sheridan's Kyle Meinecke won the 110 hurdles in 15.83 and Garrett Custis of Big Horn ran 43.23 to take the 300 hurdles. In the relays, Campbell County took the 4x100, Sheridan the 4x400, and the 4x800 with Buffalo taking the 1600 medley.

In the field events for the guys, Ben Camino from Buffalo went 5-10 to take the high jump, Natrona's Nolan Valdez won the long jump with a leap of 22-5.5, Kyle Meinecke went 40-10.5 to win the high jump, and all-star pole vaulter Ryan Karajanis of Sheridan cleared 14-6 to win that event. Sheridan's Gage Vielhasuer threw 52-7.5 to win the shot put and he also won the discus with a toss of 153 feet 10 inches.

In the boy's team standings, Sheridan was the runaway winner with 204.5 points, Thunder Basin was 2nd with 86, and Campbell County 3rd with 85. Be sure and take a look at our video from the proceedings in Buffalo. Enjoy!
