The Albany County Sheriff's Office has announced the March 18 arrest of a man wanted for second-degree murder in Colorado

Seasonal Residents Found Someone In Their Home

According to a news release. the incident began with a report of a suspicious circumstance in the Sybille Canyon area. Seasonal residents reported seeing a car that didn't belong to them and thought someone was in their house, so they reported the situation.

When deputies got there, they saw a green stolen Subaru with a license plate that was linked to a person wanted for second degree murder in Colorado. The deputies set up a perimeter and asked for help. The Albany County Joint Special Response Team was a activated to help with situational awareness and monitor the suspects movements inside the home.

The suspect refused to leave the house and was thought to be armed and dangerous. At one point, he came outside carrying a blow torch and gasoline before retreating back inside. Another time he stepped outside with a rifle before once again going back inside the home.

Finally the special response team used teargas to flush him out. The man, identified as 44-year old Fernando Rodriguez of Alamosa County, Colorado finally came outside and was arrested.

According to denver7.com. Rodriguez was wanted in connection with the death of a 49-year old Alamosa, Colorado man.
