Federal judges in Wyoming recently sentenced four men and one woman for drugs, firearms and kidnapping crimes, according to a news release from the Wyoming U.S. Attorney's Office.

U.S. District Court Judge Scott Skavdahl sentenced Joseph Dustin Buchanan, 25, of Mills for conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and for the use of firearms during and in relation to a drug trafficking crime. He received nine years of imprisonment, to be followed by three years of probation, and was ordered to pay a $200 special assessment and $250 in restitution. This case was investigated by the Wyoming Highway Patrol, the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation and the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

Skavdahl also sentenced Eddie Ray Rios, 58, of Sacramento, Calif., for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, heroin and marijuana, and for carrying a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime. Rios was arrested in Rawlins. He received 15 years of imprisonment, to be followed by five years of probation, and was ordered to pay a $200 special assessment and $1,000 in restitution. This case was investigated by the Rawlins Police Department and the DCI.

U.S. District Court Judge Alan Johnson sentenced William Arthur Curran, II, 32, of Lander for kidnap, seize, confine and hold. Curran was arrested in Fort Washakie. He received one year, one month of imprisonment, to be followed by three years of probation, and was ordered to pay a $100 special assessment and a $400 fine. This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Johnson also sentenced Anissa Rene Maldonado, 24, of Porterville, Calif., for possession with intent to distribute cocaine. Maldonado was arrested in Cheyenne. She received three years, 10 months of imprisonment, to be followed by three years of probation, and was ordered to pay a $100 special assessment and $500 in restitution. This case was investigated by the Cheyenne Police Department.

Chief U.S. District Court Judge Nancy Freudenthal sentenced Brad Calvin Titchener, also known as Brad Calvin Titchner, 49, of Cheyenne for being an unlawful user of a controlled substance in possession of a firearm and for possession of equipment used to manufacture a controlled substance. He received six months of imprisonment, to be followed by six months of home confinement. He will be placed on two years of probation after serving his sentence and was ordered to pay a $200 special assessment. This case was investigated by the BATFE.
