The May monthly Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce luncheon, will present military awards, recognize outstanding military personnel and listen to a program by Maj. Gen. Donald Alston, 20th Air Force commander.

The luncheon, sponsored by BioLife Plasma Services, starts at 11:30 a.m. at the newly renovated Fall Hall on FE Warren Air Force Base on Friday, May 4. The cost is $20 for Chamber members and $25 for non-members. The $20 member rate is being extended to all military personnel.To register, call 638-3388 or visit www.cheyennechamber.org.

Because of the location, those interested in attending must register with the Chamber by Tuesday, April 24 to clear security. Last minute additions will be in jeopardy of not making the list at the gate. Please use Gate 1 and 2 to enter the base to minimize long lines.

Maj. Gen. Donald Alston is Commander, 20th Air Force, Air Force Global Strike Command, and Commander, Task Force 214, U. S. Strategic Command, FE Warren Air Force Base. He is responsible for the nation's intercontinental ballistic missile force, organized into three operational wings with more than 9,600 people. General Alston was commissioned in 1978 following graduation from the U. S. Air Force Academy. He has commanded at the squadron, group and wing levels and served as the first Assistant Chief of Staff, Strategic Deterrence and Nuclear Integration at Headquarters U. S. Air Force. He has worked as a liaison officer to the U. S. House of Representatives, and also performed duties as the executive assistant to the Secretary of the Air Force in Washington, D .C. General Alston also served as the Deputy Chief of Staff for Strategic Communications and the spokesperson for Multi-National Force - Iraq in Baghdad in 2005.

The Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce holds monthly luncheons to welcome new members and educate and inform membership about current events affecting the Cheyenne business community.
