Dubois Recognized by American Cowboy Magazine

In  the March/April issue of ‘American Cowboy Magazine’ Dubois was recognized as one of “The Best Rural Towns of the West”.

Towns with populations of 1,000 or less were considered for the honors by the magazine. The article states, “These ranch communities embody the big country we love. Remote and surrounded by beautiful range land and wilderness, small towns form our nation’s heart. Whether you already live in a place like this’ or want to-we honor and celebrate American community values. These are the doorways to the Cowboy Way”.

The article lists both the human population (964) and cattle population (96,758) and describes Dubois as “ A quaint town that’s home to some of the country’s oldest dude ranches, Dubois is cowboy to the bone and offers Friday night rodeos all summer.”

This recognition adds to the list of recent honors including “The Best Place in Wyoming to Raise a Family” by “Bloomberg Businessweek," a “Top 10 Western Town” by “True West Magazine” in 2010 and 2011, and a 2011 “Cowboy Keeper” by the National Day of the Cowboy organization.
