One of Laramie County's most wanted fugitives is facing an additional drug possession charge after she was reportedly caught trying to smuggle methamphetamine into jail.

According to booking sheets, 38-year-old Cheyenne transient Samantha Carol Sherlock was arrested at 3:32 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 12, after the Sheriff's Office received information that she was in a camper in the alley in the 1200 block of East 6th Street.

Sherlock had two warrants, a Circuit Court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of possession of a controlled substance signed by Judge Antoinette Williams on Dec. 1, 2023, and a District Court warrant for failure to appear on original charges of burglary and property destruction signed by Judge Peter Froelicher on Dec. 4, 2023.

Sherlock was taken to the Laramie County Detention Center, where a strip search was performed, and two plastic baggies containing 5.7 grams of methamphetamine were reportedly found stuck to her body after her bra was removed.

Deputies say Sherlock was warned on scene and in the jail about bringing drugs into the jail, but stated she had nothing on her.
