It seems our biggest enemy is debt. It's easy to get in, but very hard to get out. Here are 5 ideas that may help you pay off those credit cards and say good-bye to debt for good.

Taking the consistent steps, discipline and know how are ways that we can say farewell to dastardly credit card debt for good. These 5 steps should help get you started.

  1. Laddering - Pay off the biggest credit card debt first and then take that money to pay off the others until you have no more. This is called "laddering" your payments for success.
  2. Mark Your Calendars - Mark your calendar and make a separate, half-payment every 14 days. You'll stay ahead of your payments and possibly avoid falling behind and getting a penalty.
  3. Debt-Settlement Ads - "Faggeta about it." You'll see these all over your boob-tube, especially late at night. The promise to pay them money and get you out of debt has been said to be "an illusion." This is a slow and unwise way to pay off credit card debt. What you could possibly do in 2 years, may take 5 years and place more damage on your credit.
  4. A Legit Source - You could call The National Foundation for Credit Counseling (NFCC) at 1-800-388-2227 to find a local affiliate in or near Cheyenne who can help you.
  5. Hardships - In this case, and if you qualify, lenders will determine if you have indeed encountered a hardship. Typically the way the handle this is they agree to modify terms and conditions on your debt. In some cases, they will reduce your interest rates.
